To'ak Chocolate is known for having the most expensive chocolates in the world, with some of their single bars costing up to $450! Why? The cacao is grown in Manabi, Ecuador, which is to cacao what Burgundy is to wine. Beans come from the rarest variety, pure 100% Nacional, which is over 5,300 years old. To'ak also promotes sustainability and conservation. Barefoot is proud to offer these one-of-a-kind chocolates.

Story: An unusually dry and cloudy 2018 in Manabi, combined with a mild roast and minimal conching, has produced arguably the most floral edition of To'ak Chocolate thus far. The goal was to emulate the historic flavor profile of Heirloom Nacional cacao that has been grown in the wooded hillsides of Ecuador for centuries.

Pairing Recommendations: Pairs beautifully with rich and floral single malts from Speyside, although peaty whiskies from Islay also work. Approachable Irish whiskies, smoother bourbons, and some rye whiskies are fun, too, along with añejo tequila, Zacapa 23 Rum, and sweet fortified wines. For cheese, opt for soft or semi-soft; the chocolate will bring out the nutty flavors of the cheese in a beautiful way. Brie is amazing.
