Espresso, oh how we love you. You flow like dark honey from the portafilter. You coat our senses in viscous sticky coffee love. You make us spend thousands of dollars in an elusive search for the God shot of lore. But mostly you’re just so dang good.

Barefoot is a little different. We haven’t bought into the big coffee idea that espresso is a certain blend of beans, a certain flavor profile or a catchy name like Black Rubber Bend. The Foot believes that it is simply any coffee prepared in an espresso machine that tastes fantastic. Taste first.

Our definition of espresso:

  • Espresso is a 1.5-2oz beverage prepared from 18-24 grams of coffee through which clean water of 200 °-205 °F has been forced at 8-9 atmospheres of pressure, and where the grind of the coffee is such that the brewing “flow” time is approximately 25-35 seconds.
